We are proud of S Bhanu of class VII H who had the rare opportunity to meet our Honourable President Dr.AP J Abdul Kalam on the 28th August. We are also proud of Pranuti of class V F who has made it to the third place in the “Rin Mera Star Super star” in the country. U Sri Sanket of V F has secured the third place in the under ten category of the A2H Chess academy amateur chess tournament. Kudos to all three of them.
The creative corner on all the corridors have helped in igniting the minds of the students and this newsletter has interesting articles collected from this corner.
This year our concentration is more on inculcating the habit of regular studies in each one of you and that’s the reason why we have worksheets. Students should be prepared mentally that every lesson in every subject will follow with a worksheet. So gear up children! All the best!!!

FRIEND SHIP
“A friend in need is a friend indeed” is a proverb that stands true always. In our day-to-day work, we come across so many persons and all of them are not our friends. God does not create friends. We acquire them. How are friends made? Friends have some qualities in common. They are generally of the same age group. Their aptitudes and interests, likes and dislikes are generally common. They may be living nearby, may go to the same school or they may go to same place of work. Good friends know about each other. There would be no secrets among them. They love one another more than their relatives. Friendship spreads on. Even if you have thousands of friends you can add one more. It can be said that a house can be known about from the friends who frequent it - or know his friends and you know the man. Mahatma Gandhi says, “Adversity is the crucial test for friendship.” In times of adversity try them. Examples of friends are many in the Puranas and history. Karna, the first son of Kunthi was a true friend of Duryodhana, for whose sake he sacrificed his life. The story of Sudhama and lord Krishna is another example of real friendship. Therefore I have friends in my class. they are – Lakshmi Bhavani, Ridhima, Surya Lakshmi, Aparna, Shree Vani, Rithika, Manvitha, Garima, Arshiya Fareen, Neha, Hanisha, Kavya & Bhavya. We are very friendly. We share every thing among us. And there are no secrets among us.

MY FEELINGS ABOUT THE SCHOOL AS A NEW COMER
By virtue of my father’s transferable nature of job, we have to shift every five years. I was beside myself with joy when I came to know about my father’s transfer to Hyderabad. It was my good fortune that I got the opportunity to pursue my studies in the Hi-Tech city. When I joined ‘Johnson Grammar School”, I was a bit apprehensive as to how the school would be. But, as soon as I came into contact with the erudite and venerable teachers of the school, I was thankful and I was grateful to get a chance to join a distinguished school. I am indeed very lucky to get a chance to bask in the sunshine of love and affection radiated by my Principal and esteemed teachers. I find the teaching highly efficient, and the students – a nice set of fellows. There is quite a big library with various interesting and fascinating books on different subjects, mostly with brightly – coloured pictures. The laboratory is well equipped with the most up to date scientific instruments. Not only this but a lot of interest is also taken in sports and besides, many creative competitions are also held. The students and teachers work with zeal and enthusiasm with success. This school gives me full encouragement to work with the help of the three ‘D’s i.e. Dedication, Determination and Devotion to the school curriculum. I am now proud to be the student of such a distinguished school.

An unforgettable experience
I had a wonderful experience and it was a memorable day on 28/08/06,as I had a visit to the Rashtrapati Bhavan and an interview with our Honourable President Dr.A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. He first asked us how we had implemented the 10-point oath. Then, he asked me whether I would become a politician. I said yes. He asked me why. I said that I would like to remove the caste system. I also told him that I would not accept any corruption. Then 12 children asked questions. He gave us a poem, asked us to repeat it. It was like this:
Dreams Dreams Dreams
Dreams transform into thoughts. Thoughts transform into actions. Then his Excellency invited us for tea and snacks. I asked my questions for which he put his hands on my shoulder and cleared them. That was the time Acharya told him that I had composed a song on Lead India 2020, he was happy and he said,” good.” We had a few group photos and took our leave from Rashtrapati Bhavan.

FRIENDS & FRIENDSHIP
A friend is a gift of our hearts. A friend is someone who understands us and shares our feelings. International Friendship Day is celebrated on 6th of August every year to thank our friends for their friendship over the year, and show them how much they mean to us. If you need some inspiration to visit your friend you can support them by giving friend-ship bands. Friendship never ends. If you are a true friend, friendship never ends. Even if we are separated due to transfers of our parents in their jobs, we must keep our acquaintances steady by writing to them and keeping in touch with our friends. We should not have friendship for monetary benefits but for emotional benefits. He who is your friend will stand by you in your times of happiness and sadness. We should not make friends who are rude to us but we should make friends who are kind. Whenever there is a difficulty the friend who stands by you is a true friend. Thus I conclude every person should make good friends for keeps.

INDEPENDENCE DAY
All of us celebrate festivals but the type of festival celebrated differs from one person to another, as the festival celebrated differs because they celebrate them according to the religion they follow. But there are festivals, which are celebrated by all the people of a country on a particular day. They are called as National festivals. There are many national festivals and the Independence Day is one of them.
Independence Day - by its name we can tell that this auspicious day is celebrated to mark the day when the country got its independence and became a democratic country. This day is celebrated every year on 15th August. People all over the country celebrate this day by hoisting our national flag and distributing sweets to one – another. On this day the country’s Prime Minister who is Dr.Manmohanji hoists the National flag at the famous Red Fort at Delhi. Our National Flag that is of three colours in the form of saffron then white with blue chakra and last green is hoisted on this auspicious day for many reasons. Some of them are that before Independence the people of India had to struggle a lot and united the people of India to win our freedom, After a lot of hard work and fighting wars finally we had won our Independence from the British. Thus to remind all the people of our country that because of the people in the past, today we are independent and that after a long struggle we got our Independence on the 15th of August,1947, we celebrate this wonderful day as Independence Day. Because of many people like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Maulana Azad etc today we are independent: Because of these people we have won our independence, we should remember them with pride and respect through out our life. After we had won our independence the Indian citizens had formed the constitution etc. They had also chosen the lion capital with four lions, two facing sideways, one to the front and the other facing the back from the Ashoka piller as our national symbols.
Independence Day is thus celebrated by all the people of the country by forgetting their particular religion and by hoisting and saluting their national flag.

Honesty is the best policy. Because it is the best. Honesty is the definitely the best policy. So, be honest. If you want to the honest, follow the best policy. If you want to follow the best policy, be honest. If you will be honest, every one will like you. So, be honest. This is my message to be honest.
